What sets Bertagna Coffee Company apart.

There is and has been a tremendous focus in corporations for years on creating shareholder value; in some cases to the exclusion of all of the other stakeholders of the company. At Bertagna Coffee Company we want everyone to thrive, our farmers, our employees, our distributors and our customers. We are absolutely committed to being the most ethical and trustworthy partner we can be. We welcome everyone to give us a try. We have great coffee beans and you’ll never find a better partner.

New to the team

I have been drinking coffee most of my life but I never realized the extraordinary flavors and richness that coffee could provide until I met Mirani Bertahna, the owner of Bertagna Coffee Company. Since then, I have had the pleasure of visiting a number of coffee roasters and sampling delicious coffees, not the least of which is the Brazilian specialty coffee that the company imports directly from the farmers or their cooperatives in Brazil.

Importing direct not only cuts out a lot of middlemen and allow the company to pay the farmers a higher price, but it allows the company to be very selective. All of those farmers are rain-forest certified reflecting the care they take in managing their farms’ ecology.

This has been a great experience and it has made enough of an impression that I have come out of retirement to learn a whole new business and help Mirani grow Bertagna Coffee Company into the most respected supplier of green coffee beans in the United States. I encourage every roaster to contact us for a sample of our beans. We have a wide variety of natural, washed, peaberry, etc. I’m certainly not an expert yet but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Road trip to California

Our first Container is on it’s way to Tulsa! Before it arrives we went to California to meet Agnes and get everything ready for her work in Los Angeles. Wow, a road trip from Tulsa to California sounds like a great idea. We left Tulsa on a Thursday morning and drove to Albuquerque. On Friday, after a little more than 8 hours of driving, we were there!

We trained Agnes about Bertagna Coffee and our family coffee business. She is ready to sell Brazilian speciality beans to Los Angeles coffee roasters!

On the next morning we visited some roasters in there, and it was such a great day! People in New Mexico are very friendly. We dropped off some samples! By the way, let us know if you would like to receive one of our coffee sample too, email us to bertagnacoffeeco@bertanha.com.br, it will be a pleasure for us to send it to you.

Leaving Albuquerque, our next destination was Barstow, and then, LA! Let’s to drive for more 9 hours! In Barstow we basically slept and on nest morning we only visited one roaster and left to LA.

We arrived in LA on October 13th, just in time to grab a concert of her favorite band! 😉IMG_0911

Alright, the picture is not good at all, she wasn’t worried about it though. The concert was awesome! On Sunday, we…
